Placed a togo order but had a few drinks at the bar prior to leaving.
Just wanted to say that:
Mason bartender great. Busy but handling everything, delegating where he can & I making sure my cup stays full. He's servicing with a smile & I know it's the lunch hour so I'm sure that's hard when you have so many things on your plate (or bowl - get it ;) )
Grateful for his customer service & glad I stopped in today. I needed a good experience! Stop in when your nearby.
Cheers.

Absolutely abysmal service. Turned up at 7pm, was told it would be a 15 minute wait which was no problem. We sat at the bar and patiently waited as more people began to filter in the door, no big deal. It slowly becomes 7:25pm and we are still waiting so we start wondering what's happening, and then the idiot door girl starts sitting people in order of the LAST IN THE DOOR, instead of the people who have been waiting 25 minutes.
Waste of time. Terrible customer service. Will NOT return. -

I ate at this Genghis Grill today, and it was the worst experience I've ever had at any Genghis Grill. It's literally around the corner from where I live, but I won't be back for a long time, if ever.
I had eaten at various Genghis Grills in different cities over the years before moving to Fort Worth nearly 3 years ago. I was pleased to find this place, so close to my apartment. I like their food, but there are a lot of restaurant choices in this area, and until this month, I hadn't eaten at this restaurant since last May and only 3 times in all of last year.
I went back last Thursday evening and, to my amazement, the meat was noticeably tough and stringy, something I had never experienced at any Genghis Grill before. When I told this to my server, it appeared that the word "sorry," as in "I'm sorry this happened sir," was not in her vocabulary...she simply stood there saying "OK...OK...OK." She told me, before I left, that she had informed the manager of the issue, though it seems never to have occurred to the manager to come to my table and discuss it, and the restaurant wasn't busy.
I filled out a customer survey and got a call from the manager, who said she was sorry and invited me to return this evening to have a meal at her expense.
My schedule was a little different today, so I arrived at the restaurant at a quarter after four. I waited several minutes at the front desk, completely unnoticed, and spotted three or four employees, but no one looked in my direction or acknowledged me in any way. Again, the restaurant was not busy.
When someone finally came forward, I asked for the manager who had talked to me, by name. The employee explained that she would not be there for another 45 minutes, so she went and got the manager on duty, who knew nothing about this. It never occurred to the manager on duty to call her co-manager to confirm that what I was saying was true. I said I would be back later and left.
I came back about an hour later. Although there were plenty of empty spaces in the restaurant, the young man at the front desk seated me at a banquette seat where there was a large tear in the upholstery.
The co-manager from an hour earlier walked by. "Weren't you here earlier?" she asked.
"Yes."
"What do you want?"
I'm serious. Not "Have you decided what to order, sir, or do you need a moment," just "What do you want?" I have never been talked to that way in any restaurant I've visited in 66 years.
I told her I wanted a regular bowl and a Corona. My server brought me my bowl, and I went to the line of ingredients. It was very sloppy, with several containers standing empty. I thought they were out of tofu, since you could see nothing but a grey liquid, but when I took the serving spoon and moved it around, it turned out they still had some.
When I reached the cooking station, I told the cook I wanted Udon noodles She did not ask me if I wanted anything additional, like eggs.
The food was good, and this time, there was none of the stringiness or toughness in the meat as before. But the experience overall was not good, for the reasons I've just given.
The manager who had called me and invited me back came by my table, and I began to relate what I said above.
Finally, she said, "Well I just started five months ago. I'm sorry you don't feel this place is good enough for you. I have to get back to work," and she walked away.
That pretty well says it all right there. A restaurant manager who doesn't realize that when she is listening to customer concerns, she IS at work, needs to find something else to do--preferably where she's not dealing with customers.
It's too bad, because, as I said, this place is literally around the corner from where I live, and I really like their food. But this place is on its way downhill. The employees obviously don't like working here, and management has no concept of professional customer service. Eat somewhere else.
Update, February 28: This morning, I received a call from a regional manager of Genghis Grill, and we discussed my concerns in detail. He was very polite and attentive, made careful note of everything I said, and promised to address these issues and correct them. I would like to think that this store can be turned around and made, once more, into the same place where I used to enjoy eating, and I hope that will happen. -

My husband and I are regulars here and since the new manager came around, it's gone downhill.
-This new manager - a woman with glasses - has greeted us on two different occasion with the most annoyed look on her face and makes it seem like she would rather be anywhere else but at work. It blew our minds that she was the one leading the crew.
-The servers here have definitely followed in her footsteps, we think her bad energy rubbed off on some of the few good ones left.
-Today was one for the books.
-My food came out with MULTIPLE strands of hair in it. When we looked into my bowl, there was long stands wrapping around my noodles, my meat and the rim of the bowl.
-Our waters were literally empty up until the check came and not a single server noticed or cared.
-We could not find our server and when we did see him, he was eating and watching tv at the bar.
-Whenever I found hair in my food, the manager was too busy on her phone and watching tv at the bar to notice me flagging her down. After letting her know what happened, she sighed a heavy sigh and turned around, let another server know and made herself a soda and hid in the back. I was livid.
-I mean, yeah if you're charging $12-$15 a bowl, which is the same price of places like The Cheesecake Factory, you'd think they would care more. We used to love this place but it's gone super downhill. The staff just doesn't care anymore and it shows. -

I do not come here very often, but when I do they surprise me. Facility is clean, location is great and food is awesome. Staff is attentive and helpful. Must say one thing, if you go on a Friday expect a wait (around 6:30p). Over all I give it a two thumbs up.
